At Two Dragons Martial Arts, we have training programs
beginning at ages 5-6 (Little Dragons Program) and normal
class instruction for ages 7 and up.  Please feel free to stop by
and watch a class or ask us questions.  Or, if you are feeling
brave, jump in and try a class or two to see how much fun
Karate training can be!  Parents are encouraged to stay and
watch their children train.  For parents of smaller children, we
have a
children's play room so that they can have fun too.
LITTLE DRAGON'S PROGRAM  (1 hour classes on Tues/Thur at 5:30pm and Saturday at 9:30am)

This program is specifically designed for children ages
5-6 years of age.  It emphasizes Discipline, Respect and Confidence as well as the physical
requirements for martial arts.  Students in the Little Dragons program are taught only the very basic elements of martial arts like proper stances, kicks,
blocks and punches.  The “sparring” that is done at this level involves no contact of any kind.  This is accomplished through the use of a modified game of
“keep away”.  This develops quickness, hand eye coordination and stamina.  Testing for the Little Dragons is done every 6 weeks since children of this age
require affirmation a bit more often than youth and adults.   It should be noted that students receive regular reminders that the abilities they are learning in
the Studio
STAY in the studio.  As the maturity level of each child increases they can then be individually evaluated to move up into the regular basic student
program.

BASIC STUDENT ENROLLMENT

All students 7 years and older begin with the basic student enrollment.  This program is designed to begin instruction in the Korean martial art of Tang Soo
Do.  During this portion of the program, students learn the basic fundamentals, techniques and terminology required for continued growth and excellence.
Proper techniques, discipline, etiquette and desire that are developed at this early stage will be the foundation upon which everything else is built.  All
students begin at the basic white belt (10th gup) level.  During the final month of this phase, certified instructors will evaluate the student’s overall
performance and meet with the student (and parents) to plan their continued training all the way up to the Cho Dan (Black Belt Level).

OPTION 1 - BASIC TRAINING

All students who continue their training through this option will receive personalized instruction and evaluation on a regular basis.  As the student’s knowledge
and abilities grow they will be tested and promoted accordingly.  The goal of all students is to achieve the Cho Dan (Black Belt) level.  Following the
successful conclusion of the Basic Student Enrollment and this option, students who meet all of the training, testing, and maturity requirements can expect to
be testing for their black belt in 22-24 months.  That is a total of 28-30 months from their first day as a white belt.

OPTION 2 - LEADERSHIP TRAINING (Black Belt Club)

At the conclusion of the Basic Student Enrollment, students (12 years and older) who have demonstrated exceptional ability can (at the recommendation of
their instructor) begin the leadership training option.  This program is a commitment by the student, parents and the instructor staff to grow this student as a
leader not only in our studio, but in their home and community as well.  This is accomplished through a comprehensive training program, which includes
additional testing, “homework” and volunteer projects in their church, community or school.   Feedback will be sought through church and community
leaders regarding the student's involvement and performance.   Students who commit to this option will receive significantly more personalized instruction.  It
is the goal of our Studio and the Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation to create leaders in life, not just in the studio.   Once these students reach the 4th
gup (brown belt) level they will begin Elite Weapons & Mastery Certification.  These weapons include knife, nunchucks, cane, staff, sword and escrima
sticks.  These same students (17 and older) can progress as assistant instructors and upon their promotion to Cho Dan (Black Belt) be registered as
Certified Instructors.  Those certified instructors will be evaluated to continue further training to be studio owners.

DEMONSTRATION TEAM (selected by Chief Instructors)

At the recommendation of their Chief Instructor, select students may be offered a position on our studio's Demonstration Team.  There is no monthly
expense for participation on this team.  Members will be required to purchase and maintain the special uniform for the demo team and there will be extra
practice and performance times that will be assigned.  Since these team members are used as ambassadors of our studio as well as the art that we study, it
is essential that these members not only display a high skill level, but also demonstrated the proper maturity, protocol and good character required of all
black belts, even if they are not black belts yet.
